138cmW x 38cmD x 155cmH
The auspicious iconography of the wheel first appeared in Indus Valley (2500 BCE) as a solar symbol, which represents the phenomena of motion, continuity and change of the universe. Buddhism later adapted this symbol to represent “the wheel of dharma” of Buddha’s teaching.
9 antique wooden clocks deconstructed and reconstructed to redefine the framework of time. The center of the frame exists a cube of light that slowly rotates clockwise floating and glowing in a seemingly endless space. The piece intends to connect the notion of “the present” in Buddhism and the constant moving and changing nature of our observable universe, thus inviting viewers to contemplate on the mystery of time.

138cmW x 38cmD x 155cmH
